Costa Mesa

Costa Mesa has one of the largest shopping malls in LA and Orange County. Popular for premier designer and department store shopping, South Coast Plaza is a one stop shop for all your shopping urges. But just a mile away down Bristol, The Lab is a small shopping mall often overlooked. It conveniently has Urban Outfitters and American Apparel, but I visit often for their small but unique clothing boutiques and cafes.

Even their parking spaces are adorable! Be sure to check your fortune parking spot there!

I took my out of town friends to The Gypsy Den. I love the ambiance and bohemian decor there. Plus they make the best Chai Lattes!

The Hives is one of my favorite shops for lots of goodies. One stop shop for vintage clothes, home accessories, jewelry. A great place for gift shopping for your friends and yourself :)

Do a good deed and drop off some toys, clothes, or recyclable goods at either one of these nicely decorated recycle bins

Santa Monica

If you're ever in Santa Monica, don't forget to visit Montana st. This mini shopping neighborhood is great if you want to get away from the big 3rd st promenade crowd. It attracts many locals for home accessories, clothing boutiques, and cafes.

Pom Pom Interiors was one of my favorite stores on Montana. It offers lots of linens, candles, burlap pillows, and cute vintage home accessories.

I love their collection of bird houses!

Next door was a small Asian accessory store that offers jewelry, Buddha statues, and tea sets like this one-

Make sure you walk across the street to the small florist. Its not like any average florist; it offers one of the biggest collection of milk glass vases I've ever seen and some great fine antique chinoiserie vases.

I originally took the business cards to remember the store names, but I cant find them anywhere! Sorry for the vague directions, but Montana is not that far from Ocean and 3rd st. You can find the shops between 10th and 11th st.

Thanks for visiting!

ancient rome, greek, and antiques

June gloom has officially set in, so I decided to stay indoors but not at home. Since the opening of The Getty Villa in Malibu, my visit was long overdue, so I decided to dedicate my day to the museum.

I loved it at first sight. From the herb garden entrance to the floral sculpted ceilings, I felt like I was at Disneyland for antiques.

I fell in love with this terracotta floor vase. The black finish made it look shinny metal and modern.

If I had royal blood, I would totally drink out of this wine cup for kicks- maybe just during Christmas to be festive.

and serve drinks out of this ladel.

The colors add to the textures of these detailed ceilings. It would be fun to experiment and try a similar molding in a baby or little girl's room.

These ancient sea colored glass vases would be adorable for outdoor table setting. The colors are perfect and would be fun to pair together with votives or small flowers.

How awesome is this?! A room dedicated to dropping your kids off so you can continue peacefully throughout the gallery... :)

but really, its open for children of all ages and you can draw on any of the vases.

A must visit for all. Plus its FREE admission!

Euphoric

I'm currently watching Serendipity and it's probably my tenth time. Fortunately I never get sick of it and its not because I'm such a sucker for sappy romantic comedies. Its almost been 9 years since Serendipity came out and I love it more each year; just like my love for antiques- the older, the better. So I decided to join the band wagon and blog on my adventure to seek old goods for new inspiration.

Stay tuned!
